Well I've been out of the fish game for a few years due to life getting in the way. Anyway I've finally got enough time and a little bit of $$ to set up by 6x2 foot tank again. I'm brainstorming and researching ideas for a wet/dry and sump since i sold my old wet dry. I plan on using a 50 gal rubermaid stock tank with the drawer set up for the mechanical filtration/bio tower. I'd like to use the rest of the space in the sump for a bunch of lucky bamboo. For one they'd help with the nitrates and secondly I've always liked the way they look. I understand you just leave the roots in the water while the leaves should be outside the water. I need some ideas of how I'm going to put the plants in there. The sump wont fit in the stand and will be off to the side so I want it to be somewhat visaully pleasing since it will be exposed and in plaint site and I think the lucky bamboo would help that cause. It doesnt have to be super nice looking as this tank is only in my garage anyway.

Alright after that novel let me get down to my point. I'd like to see how you all have your lucky bamboo set up in your tank. Did you leave it potted in some rocks with the pot submerged? Did you put rocks on a raised platform and plant the bamboo there? Is there a small section where it just floats? I'm trying to get some ideas. Thanks in advance!

i have my pothos plant on top my tank with just the roots in the water. I got one from the store and took the dirt off and just set it in with the leaves out of the water.

to secure it in your sump i saw fire medic put holes in styrofoam to hold the plant up and let the roots go in the water.

I use suction cup shower holder thingy from the dollar store, Stick the roots in it, attach it to the back of the tanks

Kinda like this
