Well, the time has come for me to get rid of my cichlids, and devote my main tank to natives again!

I have a general idea of what I want to do (lily pads, driftwood, another native plant, and sand) but I want to see some of your setups to get some more ideas. Maybe I will completely change my mind! The tank is a standard 125, and will house a bowfin, 3-6 pumpkinseeds, and two largemouths (I've got a 10'x5' outdoor pond for whatever outgrows the tank.) I'm also looking for 1-3 bullheads, but I'm having trouble catching them lol.

I will put up some pics/vids of their current setup soon. It's just a 55 but they're still small.

I am setting up my first tank ever this weekend, so I will post pictures. I am interested to see these as well. I love native tanks!

My stock is going to be a SMB, brown bullhead, black crappie, pumpkinseed. It is a 210.

Fisher12889 have you done lily pads in a tank before? Don't they need a ton of light? What type of light fixture do you have? I am going to be setting up a native tank soon and I think that's a great idea.

I have kept pads in my tank before...I started with just the bulbs, and once a few pads started reaching the surface, my cichlids ripped them apart lol. I just have two standard 3ft fluorescent tubes over my 6ft tank. I'm hoping my natives won't bother the plants like the cichlids did lol.

I know these are waaay overdue and I apologize, but I've been pretty busy lately. Please excuse the dirty tank, its in a back room and I plan on moving them to the 125 soon anyway. The pics kinda suck because I used my phone...
