Hi I know that kok potential is more on the gene of the parents and there are water koks and boner koks etc.. but how early can you tell or see if a male juvi fh has a good potential for having a decent kok? 2-3 months old? 3-5 inhes long? are there such thing as a late bloomer or it's just a phrase that sellers use to sell their kokless/minikok male fh? Thanks a lot, just newbie kok questions. :)

All flowerhorns are different so you are always going to get some late bloomer but I'd say if you can't visibly see a nuchal hump by 3" it's not worth your time. Picking females is different though.

me too yo_fish_boi, thanks beantickler. Im not gonna take a chance on late bloomers.

Don't ever say never... Trust the breed fellas... If u buy Kamfa's from well know breeders and know the breed then buy it. Tan King, Damo and Japro are a few well known breeds that I would buy without worrying about kok potential for sure...
