I've never really had to level a tank. The only spot available in my basement was quite off. I have the stand level now though. My question is... Does the stand need to be 100% touching something on the bottom. Right now I have a few spaces inbetween shims.

Not too much but is it enough to cause a problem?

I only ask because it took me a very long time to cut and such.

I would say that the more support your stand has the better. Ofcourse if you have a very sturdy stand it wouldnt need as much support as a weaker stand. The main concern is to make sure all of your pressure points are touching the ground evenly. 135 gallons is alot of weight.

Yea. I have the majority of the stand covered. It's just there are a few gaps. I just tested it half full. I'm thinking tomorrow I'll just drain it and fill the holes. I'm anxious to get it going but not that anxious.

Yea, I had a similar situation with my 150 gallon tank in my basement. I filled all of the gaps with shims though so that the tank was evenly supported all around. Pain in the butt but worth the reasurrance.

Agreed. I decided to start draining now and finish up the shimming tomorrow.

Thanks for encouraging me to do the right thing :)
