In March of 09 I purchased a 75 Gallon to replace my 55. I didn't need to level the tank initially however a few weeks ago I noticed there was a very slight slope in the water level. It runs the length of the 75 and can't be more than a 2-3mm difference from one end to the other. I'm wondering how worried I should be about this, and if I have to do something to level it, what should I use and how should I go about doing so?

It's on carpet.

It only bothers me because I'm overly paranoid. I absolutely cannot afford to have this tank leak. So if I keep the water level above the trim I'll never see it, I just don't want to be doing any long term damage.

So you'd say not to worry about it?

P.S. It's on the second floor.

i have tanks that have the same problem on a first floor concrete slab with carpet over the slab. i wouldn't be overly concerned

same here, just keep the water level where you can't see it :D

if you really want to level the tank, use shims under the low side. it's probably the tack strip from the carpet, if the stand is close to the wall. if you do this, drop the tank water level as low as possible first. realistically, it would be safer to just leave it alone if it's not getting worse over time.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm having a hard time determining whether or not it's getting worse or whether it finally just settled into the floor after a few months.

my tank is slightly unleveled within a few mm. It's sitting on carpet, with concrete underneath. I just ignored it.
