my 75 is a little off level about 1/2" at least. I am getting rid of it and putting a 125 there. Does styro under the tank make it level or should i shim the stand? Should i even do anything at all? Wait til after I fill it to see what it looks like. Not sure. Just dont want a busted tank or anything silly.

I would shim the stand. Even being just slightly off level can put some different stresses on the glass and seams that they weren't designed for. This is going to be more important now that you're upgrading. It would be better to spend a few bucks and a few extra minutes now leveling it than have a seam split or something and have over 100 gallons of water to clean up later

I agree, definitely shim the stand to solve your leveling problem. Get the tank full and let it settle a couple of days before you break off the excess from the shims; you might need to make small adjustments after filling. Foam does not make a tank level; all it does is spread the weight better if the stand surface is bumpy or uneven.

especially since it is a used tank. What would you use to level it? I have wood shims that I use to shim commercial windows but have never shimmed a tank.

Those work just fine. You want pretty much a solid line of them, so there are as few gaps between the stand and the floor as possible.

Level the stand first with the heaviest object you can find centralized before you add the tank

Nothing too heavy in this house besides tanks. I will sit the tank on the stand without water to level it i guess and monitor the level as it fills.

What kinda flooring you have? I put a piece of leftover wood flooring under one end of my stand, and finished the rest of the leveling off with some newspaper. After the tank was filled i cut the excess newspaper off with an exacto.

My floor is unlevel every which way(front to back, side to side) so the newspaper worked out great to get it perfectly level and not wobbly. I sat an old tank on the bottom of my stand(25gal empty) and sat on the top of my steel stand with my 1 1/8" board on there and a level. I got on and off until I was good to go. When my water level is down a bit it looks great.

actually I just had someone complimenting how level the stand was, he could tell by the water level
