I have been watching CL for a while looking for a good deal on a 100+ galloon acrylic tank but I haven't found anything I was crazy about or that was in my price range.

LFS in Cypress, CA today changed that. I moved from that area 3 years ago but was back visiting family for Thanksgiving and the guy remembered me! I guess not a lot of people bring him back fish when they outgrow their tanks. But sure enough, he remembered me and asked why I hadn't been there in years and said "You are the guy who brought me the catfish.."

Anyway, he had a 125 used acrylic he was asking 250 for but took 200 and threw in a bottle of scratch remover. No scratches inside or from front but back corner had some which I don't care about since they face the wall.

This exact tank is over $1200 new!

Way to go LFS! And oh man do they have some great fish.. Arowanna from baby to 2' plus.

The link is of this tank new, and I couldn't fit the tank in the back of my grand cherokee so it's in the in-laws garage until I can pick it up this w/e with my truck.

Not glamorous but here it is in their garage:

Looks dirty in pics but it's really not bad.. brown stuff on the bottom is actually not inside, but original protective acrylic paper underneath the tank.

Thanks Leptoe!! I'm very happy and looking forward to all the stand/filter/lighting builds. For the most part this was a big shout out to LFS people. I cannot believe the fish these people keep and for the guy to remember me after not being there for 3 years? I was going to buy SOMETHING right then and there.. the fact that he had a tank I was interested in was just gravy.

I

It was a good corner tank and first "decent" size tank I've owned. I have been value shopping and am thrilled with this tank for 2-hundo! Its been a while for me and fish but this time I am getting much more into it. Instead of the 3 tanks (all 20 g or under) I'm looking forward to having a bigger tropical tank.

BTW, I just read all 34 pages of your "L-Shape tank" thread and was disapointed you sold that 450... right up until I saw those videos of the rays in the 600. Lol.. Amazing!

An LFS near me has an L shaped tank and it was ****ing amazing. they had all kinds of cool stuff in there from Asian arrow's to fronts and a sting ray. I would love to have an L shaped tank.

Thats an amazing score though! especially considering the original price. I would love to have a big corner tank like that so many cool possibilities for it. what are you going to put in there?

and as for deals, I got a 225 gallon 5'x3' footprint with stand and filters the lot for 200 bucks XD that was the deal of a lifetime for sure.

I just set up my new 120 48x24x24. It feels good to have a "decent" sized tank, dosn't it? Well to the avrage aquarist it is huge.

Thats gona be killer when it is cleaned up and up and runing.

A 4 foot 120 isn't huge by any means when it comes to keeping fish. Now if ur 120 was longer then that's different. OP congrats on getting a 100+ gallon tank. I myself prefer longer tanks because it opens ur options.
