So I go into the lfs and the lady says if your going to look at the fish let me turn the lights on. I knew right away they are going under soon if they can't keep the lights on. Well she told me they are already over 1,000 behind from last month. because the tennessee electric went up 25%. And told me if I wanted to bring in any fish I didn't need then I better do so soon. Their new hours are 12-3 only now also. So I am wondering. What do most lfs's do when they go under? What do they do with all the tanks and fish? Sell cheap?

When my favorite LFS was closing they gave all there tanks to people who bought them. I happend to buy my 20 long and the 75 (which now is empty and waiting for sevs). They gave the fish away for free. I got a pair of sevs, PBASS, and a silver aro. This is when I was 11(4 yrs ago) and it was in a 75. Now to this day they will be reopening in Jan.2009'

I wondered the same thing. I have never had a lfs go under just get bought out. got free fish out of it cause they didnt want to stock certain types so they got rid of them. 2 months later they where stocking them again.
A friend of mine sold up, they reduce everything and any old stock he took home and stored in a garage and sold on cheap to other LFS's.
drive by daily and keep yer eyes open.. stoping in once or twice a week couldnt hurt either...
who knows.. maybe they will hook you up with all sorts of good stuff

i hate saying it but this lfs closing is good for you. just go in more than you do now and make a good aquantiance with the people working there, you'll get a ton when they close
