a small LFS near me is going out of business after only being in business for about a year. When I passed by yesterday saw a sign that said "all tanks for sale, name a price".

I was thinking of offering a price going by $1 per gallon, but the more I think about it I could wait for another petco $1 per gallon sale and have a new tank.

Looking for advise on what I should offer on the tanks, that's if there is any there I want.

Try your luck with $0.50 per gallon. If they are desperate, a 100g can go for $50

that would be nice

Offer $1 a gallon, but tell them you want the stands or some other accessories thrown in for free.

Don't feel bad about really lowballing them, they need to dump more than you need to buy and even at dirt cheap prices, there really aren't a ton of people looking to get 100+ tanks (which is probably why they are going out of business)

You will get a better response if you have the means to transport the tanks on the spot so they know you are serious

That sale tht petco had at the beginning of this year, in my area, only comes once a year. And I would easily pay a buck a gallon for any size. ***Just make very sure you actually will be getting whatever tanks you are actually looking at. When you pick the tanks up, they might be the 'sick' tanks from in storage room, or the tanks that had housed the stores stock. If they're wanting to sell those, then tanks should be even less, imo. **One of the largest expenses I've had, besides filteration, is substrate. You might want to see if you can get that 'dirt cheap' while you're at it!:D

I had my nephew call, they only have 10's, 20h's, 20L's, and 30's, and they are wanting $1 per gallon, I'm not really looking for any of those. I'm taking him there at 5 to pick something up, maybe I'll find something I want or if I can get the to do 3 20L's for $30 I may buy them.
