Hello all, today I am feeling a little christmas spirt in me. I bought my dad a tsn and some pim.blochiis there in a 20 for now until christmas. Well anyway while I was at Daves pet city they had 15 arowanas. They have 10 silvers and 5 unided aros labled as '' Arowana Oddball'. They looked like jars or lei's. Well anyway in the 100 gallon tank they had 3 big silvers that were trade ins. 1 was about 24'', and the 2 others were about 10'' and beaten up. In my basement I have a 75 with a 12'' fire eel in there and was wondering if I can resuce one of the 10'' guys.
Thanks for all help!!
Happy Holidays
P.S If I go back to the store I'll post pics of the un id aros and 24'' silver.

You could put the 10'' Silver in your 75 for a while, but they do grow quite fast, and would need a significantly larger tank, say a 180 within a year, and then something with a footprint of 8'x3' down the track if you intend to keep it. What are the dimensions on the 75?

Ok I don't really know the dimensions. Ok yeah I could probably upgrade later. Also is it true that orange on the fins of silvers is female and just plain silver is males? Thats waht the lfs employes are saying.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS

That just sounds like a myth about the sexing due to fin colour, silvers will get red-orange fins if they are fed foods that are high in carotenoids, like shrimp.

You already know the answer, go back and read your previous threads. If a silver aro won't work in a 150g, 120g or a 90g, why on earth would you think you could keep one in a 75g?

Leave the "saving" of these arowana to someone who can properly care for them

What did I say earlier??? I am only going to house one in a 75 for a little while. Then in about a month he will be in my dads big tank.

Lol, no kidding. Why is he not going in now at 10"? What size is this tank?
