i know theres some fellow members on here in my neck of the country so i just wanted to give a shout out that sea cave now has festae around 3-3.5 inches for 20.00. my lfs never have most of the fish that we ca members keep with the exception of oscars and green terrors red devils jack dempseys. those are the common ones and about all you see around here unless i sell them some others so this is nice to see. there actually getting something different in for a change

nevermind. on the phone she said they were festae. i go down to buy something else and look at them and they are mayans so i told her and she said her provider heavenly fish sold them as festae and they are not.
ok so after i tell her how to tell the difference and she had mayan marked as festae she called the guy the next day and he told her they came from equador and are festae. i told her i dont care what the guy said and that she had mayans labled as festae so she said well i guess your both experts being a smartass. so she leaves it labled as being festae.. customer service is poor. i wish they had a email so i could send them this site link and see how much people hate there fish stores mislabling fish.
always baffles me..in every other industry false advertising and then clearly not giving a crap would not fly.
Same thing happened here in NYC for me at New World Aquarium. They are usually on point with their fish from my experience with them. But the got a batch of fish labeled as Red Festae and after looking at them figured they were Mayans. I told the guy at the front desk and he said thats how they were labeled when we go them and after explaining the difference between the 2, he once again said thats how they were labeled when we got them, looked back down at his newspaper and took a swig of his coffee. that store lost alot of points with me that day.fishguts;4225002; said:

Not trying to start an argument, but look it from their point of view. If some guy came up to you and said you have something wrong when someone you know told you otherwise, what would you say?
I hear what your saying. But after explaining the difference between the 2, you would think the guy would have somewhat of an interest in the matter. He brushed me off as if I were a child in a candy store with no money.Terrorizing Cichlid;4227327; said:
