Does anyone know any good LFS in the Baltimore/DC area that carry a nice variety of CA/SA cichlids. I'm talking bout the not so common ones too. Just moved out this way a couple weeks ago and i'm just trying to find a "go to" store. Thanks

House of Tropics in Glen Burnie is about the only one left.

Tropical Fish World (in Gaithersburg) is closing any day...and Scales (in Cloverly) closed a couple of years ago.

The best source of New World cichlids in our area is the CCA (www.capitalcichlids.org). There isn't a monthly meeting in July or Aug...but CCA is hosting the ACA convention in Silver Spring on July 21-24 (www.ccadoesaca.com). You will find more cichlids than anyone could want there...

+1 on what Matt said.

You can also try Rick's Pets in Frederick. They are hit or miss on cichlids, although they occasionally have some out of the ordinary stock. I've also heard Riverdale Pets gets some cool stuff, but I have never been there.

Zach maybe I will see you at the convention.

I go to the house of tropicals at least once a week and Im on the other side of the bay bridge lol.

They have great stock and isles of fish everywhere

Riverdale pets has some nice stuff I got wild festae atromaculatus umbee dovii and more. Also had a lot of piranha peacock bass and oddballs. Its right outside DC, I drove from Richmond to get fish

I'll have to remeber these places and make a visit sometime. I really just hate dealing with this traffic out here. Its crazy...20 min drive=1 hour with traffic. Guess i have to get use to it. thanks again for the suggestions.
