Lfs miss iding the fish

i laughed so hard... i went to my local lfs there was a tank with peacock cichlids in it the label reads..... tropical trout (about 3 inches each) 24.99 each


and they have a tank of texas labeled exotic rare cichlids (about 2 inches each) at 29.99 a piece !!!!

I love it when my LFS gets fish and doesn't ID them right. I got a rare E. humboldtii Knife fish for $22 labeled as a Centipede Knife, and a Giant Bumblebee Catfish labeled as a South American Bumblebee Catfish for $6.

My friend and I got a hapala barb labeled as a clown barb, they said they had just had him longer, even though it looked nothing like the others. That is also how I got my $12 syno angelicus.

yes my lfs once said...... i asked if they had any convicts theysaid yes we have blue ones and red and yellow ones

Few weeks ago lfs around here had three piranha labled as red bellied pacu, but they were in a seperate tank than the other pacu, not sure if it's because they were mislabeled or because they aren't legal here, either way they weren't for sale and he said they weren't sick, just a big x on the tank.

It is funny but not funny especially when some poor sap gets a fish and think its growing to 4 inches and it can get to a couple of feet. I wish I came across the angelicus since I paid $80 for a 6 inch one not counting the shipping.

heres a funny story when i was searching for p-bass i went to a lfs and asked the sales chick if they had any she told me they dont sell aggresive fish....as i looked through the tanks i saw oscars, jags, rtc's ect... as i walked out i told her nope i guess you dont have any aggresive fish....lol

i know its not funny they mislabel fish . it WAS FUNNY that it said TROPICAL TROUT. and expecially on a common type fish like that and very wierd too is that thier other store 20 miles away have them also and are labeled correctly as peacock cichlids.
