I went to my LFS today and I saw two pike cichlid. One was a juvie and the other was about 12 inches long but they didn't have scientific names at all. The juvie was called a Tiger Pike Cichlid. What crenicichla is called a tiger pike (and if you can post pictures of it as a juvie)? Now the big one was just called a pike cichlid and it was all black or dark brown, what crenicichla does this sound like?

Thanks
Mike

P.S.- If anybody lives in the Milwaukee area and has been to this LFS (Aquatics Unlimited) more times than I have (this was my first time) can help me out on the discription a little better...

"tiger pike cichlid" probably is Cr. cincta, a very distinctive/striking Pike - will get big!

that would be my guess as well. Only other tiger pike i can think of the moment would be Crenicichla tigrina...and thats NOT likely. So 90% sure its cincta....as for the larger pike...could be a number of pikes from that discription...lol. Will get big was an understatement about the cincta BTW...they get HUGE! lol
