I was wondering if any of you had fish ordered by lfs per your request. Do you guys know if they can do something like this? My lfs had 5-6" bichers and i'm tired of waiting for them to come in

Yeah, I have ordered stuff from my LFS before. Only downside is you get stung a higher price than if they got whole batch of them in, expecially if they are oddballs.
I've had to order 2 small firemouths from a LFS, and firemouths are starting to become hard to come by here, except Petsmart is selling them still.. If I have the chance and I have $20, I can buy more then 3 more firemouths, and possibly add myself a striped rafael catfish.
I order fish often, but a) It is mostly ordering for the museum, so we can order several and get a discount/free funding. b) when I order fish myself, I can usually find some friends to split the order, or I just order a large amount to reduce the cost and sell them out of my own tanks later
I've done it and seen others do it to at one shop. if te order is big enough they dont add the full shipping cost.

Why let your LFS special order something? They will just mark up the price on you.. You should look around at some of the online vendors and other online suppliers, as the prices are usually low enough to combat the shipping costs, especially if you do a larger or group order.
i have a lfs by me that will special order anything and still give me a 30 day live guarantee i dont know how they think that this is good but its good for me they have to lose alot of money to badfishkeepers killing fish

I was just gonna say, if they can offer you a guarantee and the price is right.. I would ask the LFS to special order too.. but from past experiences, you usually get hollow promises and a hastle in the end..
i would agree miles but in my case its a chain garden center and their guanrantee stands they dont need water samples just a dead fish
