about 3 ft long and they are asking 2k for it... not that have any thought on buying it at all i just think its insane that anyone would consider keeping this thing in there house. what kind of tank would be needed for that at least 10k+ gallons right. it is not like a nurse or bamboo where they rest on the bottom this thing is always on the move. idk anyone have any input here i was in shock wen i walked in and saw it for sale...

it really shouldn't have been brought into the trade. i hope, noone buys it, and make the LFS lose money on this purchase, hopefully it make them stop buying large predators/sharks

My buddy's store has one for sale too. It's in the same pond as the Nurse shark they're selling. They have also have two smoothhound sharks for sale. Whenever somebody comes in to buy it, they'll send an employee out to inspect the person's tank that they're putting it into.

Until recently i never thought i would be able to meet some one who could house a shark, especially not in HK... but low and behold, i discovered a friend of a friend actually does have a huge "pool" sized tank which did have 2 sharks in it... not sure what species since hes since sold them off to an establishment with a large enough tank to house them... but just hearing and seeing pics at the time changed my perspective...

So imo, if a person really does have the funds and the means to house them for life i don't really see a problem with it... i just find it a shame when its the mis-informed people who end up purchasing them and sticking them in a 200G thinking they'll survive for life when they obviously won't...

IF a person has the means and space for such large tanks, great, no reason they shouldent be able to have a large shark.

problem is, out of all the private tanks in the world, theres only a small handful of them that go into the tens of thousands, which would be needed for some of the large sharks we've all seen for sale.

hell, if 99.9% of the fish keeping hobby cant even properly house most normal, everyday monster fish like pacu, CK and some cats, how are they going to handle a shark that can grow to 5ft??

those sharks are pretty common stuff being sold here in the LFS in the philippines. also extremely cheap. for that size, the LFS would ask around $40.

Wow $40,thank goodness they cost much much more than that here or they would be all over the place, more than the bamboo sharks.

At $40, they'd probably become disposable novelty items.
Yeah,so lets hope the prices of blacktips stay nice and high so that only the most serious and capable fishkeepers will buy them.

yea idk if anyone around here could properly house that... in NY a lot of people get things temporarily as something to brag about unfortunately and then get rid of them...
