So, I went to a LFS today that I haven't been to since I got my fire eel. It's pretty well kept up. They have a RTGG in (I think) a 150 or so, and he's the biggest one I've seen in real life. I went to get a part for one of my HOBs that was broken (I thought the magnet was dead or something because of the sand). So I went and got it, and when I got home I learned I just needed to snap a part back in on the magnet area. So now I have a spare magnet for one of my HOB filters on the 100G.

I also was about 1 inch from making an impulse buy. They had LimaSNs that were about 2'' each. I always wanted a monster cat, and I was thinking it would be a cool idea for a growout (20--> 55 --> 100 --> Upgrade), but I'm glad I decided against it. One of the employees said the MTS for 'em was a 50 or 75G, and I'm like :confused:. So I went to buy the filter part and ask another employee. He said he had seen an 18 incher, and that one would be fine in my 100G. So, knowing this isn't the case, I decided on just buying the filter magnet thingy. I'm sure everybody's almost made an impulse buy at some time in their fish keeping experience. :naughty:

We also saw a glass 240G for $899.99, and the size freaked out my mom. I'm gonna have to kinda ease her into the idea of a bigger tank

So yeah, spare filter part, almost impulse buy, and big tank.

I got real close to an impulse buy of a rhom once he was like 10" and they had him in one of those damn 15gal cubes (you know the display tanks) and I felt kind bad for him so I had to walk by it like 5 times before I could talk myself out of it.

theres no such thing as "extra" parts.. just parts that have not been used yet....
this is what i tell my gf when she questions my "tub-o-fishtank stuff" (2 air pumps, powerhead, all sorts of air stones, heaters, silicone, pvc fittings, check valves, and close to 100 feet of different diameter vinyl tubing)

whered ya go?

i ended up at global aquatics (ontario.. 60 and vineyard).. its a nice place.. hit or miss with price.. everything is either cheap or overpriced.. (lil suction cup thermometer $13.. $3 at petco)

i ended up with an impuls of 5 or 6 peppered corys ($2 each, 3/4") they are goin nuts in qtank

yeah impulse buys
my greatest impulse buy was a 220(uk)g tank
wanted one but that day when i went to the LFS i had no plans of ordering one, but before i came home i did order that tank

Yesterday I almost bought a few baby albino tiger O's.
It was so hard not too!
Only place one of them could go would be in my 35G, and that would just be more bad than good.
Unless....
I can find someone to take it once it gets too large...

I don't know who said it, but it went something like this - an impulse buy, is just a fish I didn't know I needed. If anyone knows who said it, I would like to give the credit to him. My latest impulse, were 3 Firemouths and 2 Red Devils. I went in to get 2 Firemouths, and saw they had 3, so I got 3. Then in the tank next to them, were 2 Red Devils, so I got them too. Another pickup, was a rescue. JD/Texas mix. I didn't know I needed that fish until I got him home.

i have no idea where that is... but please tell me its not the place in monrovia on huntington across from the toys r us.... cuz i just happened to see that place today and so i stoped in.... good prices but any fish from that place would spend atleast 6 months in the qtank cuz it was downright icky in some of those tanks.... no dead fish though.. ill give the guy that.. not that i saw anyone else in the store for all i know whoever was working there was dead behind the counter cuz it was like 400 degrees in the place... but whatever...
