So, I went to a LFS today that I haven't been to since I got my fire eel. It's pretty well kept up. They have a RTGG in (I think) a 150 or so, and he's the biggest one I've seen in real life. I went to get a part for one of my HOBs that was broken (I thought the magnet was dead or something because of the sand). So I went and got it, and when I got home I learned I just needed to snap a part back in on the magnet area. So now I have a spare magnet for one of my HOB filters on the 100G.
I also was about 1 inch from making an impulse buy. They had LimaSNs that were about 2'' each. I always wanted a monster cat, and I was thinking it would be a cool idea for a growout (20--> 55 --> 100 --> Upgrade), but I'm glad I decided against it. One of the employees said the MTS for 'em was a 50 or 75G, and I'm like
. So I went to buy the filter part and ask another employee. He said he had seen an 18 incher, and that one would be fine in my 100G. So, knowing this isn't the case, I decided on just buying the filter magnet thingy. I'm sure everybody's almost made an impulse buy at some time in their fish keeping experience.
We also saw a glass 240G for $899.99, and the size freaked out my mom. I'm gonna have to kinda ease her into the idea of a bigger tank
So yeah, spare filter part, almost impulse buy, and big tank.
