on an icecube.....
iam posting this because iam not sure what to do and was wondering what other people thought, last thurseday when i was at the LFS(not so local its 3 hours away)i saw they had a diffrent looking poly in with the normal and albino senagals(its about 3")i dident know what kind it was at the time so i asked one of the guys there"how mutch for that one" he looked at it for a minute and said $10 so i said bag it up, well it turns out it jumped over from the other tank of ornates and was suposed to be $70, well i was back today and the guy said that he had given me the wrong fish and "when could i bring it back" he showed me how it wasent suposed to be in that tank and said he would give me the right fish, i said i would bring it back on thursday but i dont realy want to i mean iam not going to get an ornate at the price ever again and it was his own fault he should have known what kind of fish it was, so i was wondering what other people would do? i woudent bother to bring it back but the store is one of the only ones that gets in any good or hard to find fish

well I wouldn't give it back. Is this guy a manager? How well do they know you? I would just say well I liked the way this particular fish looked but I'm not giving you 60 more dollars for it. You told me ten so I bought it from you. If they kick you out and say they won't sell you fish anymore, which I doubt if you are a good enough customer that they recognize you. Then so be it

i think thats stupoid. that is the owners dumbass mistake. if he knew what he was actually selling then he woudlnt be in this situation. keep the fish its rightfully urs. u payed for it show him the receipt! and rub it in his face. that he sold u a ornate for 10 dollars!!! hahah

Tell him to jam it... his mistake and there isn't a thing he can do about it and he knows it!

He can't NOT serve you next time your there because you got a fish cheaper than it was suposed to be :screwy:

I'd give him updates every few months

Nice pickup... you better keep it!

I would actually keep it low key - you DO want to keep on having good experiences in that store don't you? As opposed to be seeing as the "kid who ripped the store off" They'll make it an unpleasant experience for you each time you visit the store, whether or not you like it. I suggest just telling him it was his mistake, which is very clear. It happens all the time. I once scored a red tail catfish that the girl thought was a RED TAIL SHARK!!! Yep - I paid $6.99 for it. Now that would have been an expensive red tail shark, but I didn't say a word!

Bottom line - keep it, but don't rub it in, unless if you want to shop elsewhere.

im with everyone else and i say keep it. if ur feeling bad tho and quite rightly want to continue having a good experience at the store, give them $25 and so at least u both accept 50% responsibility and u pay $35 for the ornate.

Fish are typically marked up 4-5x what they are bought for wholesale. He prob paid $15-ish for it. Next time you go, ask him what the wholesale price was, give the difference, call it a day.
i agree pay diff .call it a day
