I've already lost my BEAUTIFUL clown knife fish earlier this week and I fear that my bichir and florida gar are infected with the same disease. They are all eating fine but appear to be rubbing up against the plastic plants CONSTANTLY. The clown knife fish had been doing the same thing, along with rushing up to the top of the tank to splash the water and rush back down. Additionally, the ck developed a red circular dot on his tail region. He appeared to be doing fine but then I came home one day to find him floating at the top of the tank. I've been doing large water changes (40-50%) while adding salt as well. The temp is 84F, not sure if I should turn it up higher or not. I've got a small hob with two fluval canisters running on the tank as well. Should I continue my process of frequent large water changes while adding salt or try adding parazin to the tank to treat for lice?

I took a magnafying glass and examined both fish closely and noticed NO lice on the scales. I'm thinking it may be internal parasites. I may treat the tank with prazi pro and see where that gets me. Also, the bichir has become very gray in appearance at the top of it's body and had a cloudy eye on one side.

Throw me a freaken bone here lol.

My fish were acting weird after I left town, salt and heat fixed my problem, but my fish were scratching and 3 had slight ick.

You do not see anything on your fish?
Look at the thread <salt vampire tetra salt halp> somthing like that,I dont know about CK (had one in the past) but I had the same problem and I was told jungle labs, parasite clear and fungus clear, many different meds and they can be used togather!!!
Goodluck, hope this helps a little
