today i introduced four Oreochromis Mossambicum/Common Tilapia in my 40gal tank and they are so cool when they're skimming the surface for food. almost like upsidedown grazing cows or whatever... sounds like a cat drinking.
now i'm thinking of lowering the water level about 4 in and building a rocky slope breaking the surface on one side. it'd be nice to have something living there too!

give me ideas, recommendations, tips and such... anything that can hold it's own agains big but fairly nonpredatory cichlids?

U know how big dos fishY's will git???

yes... about 20 in... the biggest is around 4 in now... i'll ofcourse move them as they grow, just keeping their offspring behind.

edit: when i researched this species i talked to a lot of people and read lots of reports on its behavior and i seems that these fish tend to work well even in smaller tanks. i'm planning on keeping a male and three females in a 60 gal tank and their young in a 15 gal and the 40 gal mentioned above. if it doesn't work i'll move them to a bigger tank as they grow.
