They can live for 20+ years and can reach the size of 4', if cared for and given the specific requirements..

20+ years is right, but I have heard of most attaining lengths of 3'. 4' in captivity is very rare, although I guess it could happen. They have been said to get to 5' in the wild.

sweet ive got one thats 13 months old and is already over 1foot long is that a good groth rate, unfortunently hes got 1 drop eye but that should fix its self when he goes in my HEATED POND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ive had my silver for 10 1/2 months. Bought him with the sac and now he is 14in.

Now that's some serious power feeding.

I have heard the 20 years and over, seems possible. What I dought is a length of over 3 foot in a normal home aquaria. But I guess time will tell.
