Well my light decided to burn a connection so won't be running halides until it is fixed, just actinics. Does anyone know how many days i have to spare until my acropora reacts badly to this?

Yes the tank backs on to my garage roller door, but it won't be direct sunlight. Will this work?

indirect sunlight is better then nothing, but will give you a lottttttttttttttttttttt of algae. it should anyways. So that will be a battle when done. otherwise your coral would be okay for no more then 4 days before id recommend getting the light fixed lol. Corals can go longer probably, but i wouldnt hold your breath.

As my luck would have it, it is rainy and overcast over here anyway! Hopefully this thing gets fixed in the next day or so.

Its a little plastic connection inside, i think from one of the ballasts. It has happened before on the other side and was fixed in no time now the other side decides to go. The halides will still light up but not good with this connection filling the room with an electrical burning smell.
