I have a 15w aquarium bulb for a 55g, in it I have an Amazonian sword, water onion, and some kind of grassy plant that apparently spreads fast. I've put in liquid supplements for the plants, they don't seem to be growing at all, just loosing some stalks and leaves, do I need more light?

Alright, will a larger wattage light be louder or anything? And I have mine on about 16 hrs a day is that too much?
Sorry for double post, but I forgot to mention it's a florescent, wouldn't that mean it produces way more light than a normal 13w?

no it shouldnt if you have a decent fixture. my lights run silent. i guess if you get some thing that needs a fan it may be louder. but i only see fans on very very high power lighting
its probably just making algae, if theres no algae its fine then, it wont hurt the plants its actually more beneficial for vegetative growth.
just know running more hours doesnt make up for inadequate wattage.

aquaria are on a flourscent standard, any recommendation you receive is for atleast flourscent bulbs, so dont buy any incandescents for plants.
