a few of my new rays have these light patches on their disc (top). They seem fine but I'm worried that there could be something wrong with them. I've attached a picture but you can't really see the patches so...:nilly:

Is there a thread with all ray diseases? there should be

Also, ID?

As a preventative, you could always do 1.5 lbs of salt per 100G pre-dissolved and added in over a period of a few hours.

This causes no harm and gives a peace of mind. IMHO.

Thanks for the quick response! How much salt does that equate to for 120g?

I was told that these guys were hybrids from the breeder.

I'm not really noticing the light patches but if I would have to guess I would say they would be bite marks from the other pups. Definetly hybrids. They look alot like my motoro/pearl or marble/pearl pups. They look like great healthy pups. You may need to up your feedings if they get nippy. I feed my pups 4-6 times a day.

Bah, thanks guys. one of the pups is actually getting pretty tore up by bites so i wouldn't doubt it. I'll up the feedings and try to separate the dominant ones.

Think about adding salt to help w. the wounds and stop infection. Just do a normal bottle (1lb 10 oz) for your 120G. That should be sufficient. Also keep your water pristine.

I noticed this on mine too. Its only on the female though, so I'm assuming its from the male biting her. Her appetite is good and she seems healthy. I've been keeping an eye on things, but everything seems to be ok.
