The tank I bought did not come with a light for it. Does any one have suggestions on where or what to buy? I've seen light set ups that rise up and sit above the tank, what are these called? Any tips would be great. Tank is 4 feet long. Looking for LED, and possible lights for at night. Thanks

The raised lights are usually t5ho, they need circulation to prevent over heating. If the tank is freshwater fish only a kmarineland double bright led will be a good option.

Any light can be raised. One of the main reasons for raising the light or suspending the light higher above yje tank is to reduce PAR intensity. T5HO lights have higher output. This output can cause algae issues. So raising the light actually reduces intensity. My T5HO hangs about 8 inches from the top of the tank, putting it about 32 inches above the substrate. Plus suspended lights look pretty cool. I did mine from the ceiling with high strength fishing line.

As far as a good reasonable priced led check out the lights at aquatraders.

I have a 48" Beamswork LED that I got off eBay. I have had it since November and honestly could not be more pleased with it. I have a video review on here - you should be able to find it from my profile if you want to see it.

You can also get the beamworks from Aquatraders as well. good priced light that works quite well.
