i just bought a used current usa light with 2 65 watt dual actinics and 2 65 watt dual daylights
my questions are....
why is the fan so loud and is there anything i can do to make it quieter?
my tank looks really green now compared to my 48" powerglow light that i had.... is this because of the bulbs and how can i make it look more clear and blue?

check the actinics, when mine burnt out they made the tank look pretty green/yellow. and so you know what *K the daylights are?

Definitely...it's probably a good idea to just change out all the bulbs to be on the safe side. You're better off spending the money on the lights than lose all your photosythetic inverts in your tank.

Also, what are the dimensions on the tank?

the daylights are half 10000k and half 6700 i wanna say...in the 6000s
and the dimensions are 48x18x20 for the tank.......................i had a sneeking suspition the bulbs might have needed replacing but i wanted to make sure before i dropped like $100 on bulbs for no reason

What is the length of bulb and what type of connector?

mine (biocube 29) were pretty loud for a while, but after i took thelight's cover off and unscrewed everything, checked for rust, changed some of the screws, tightened others; it went back to normal. just check that they aren't vibrating out of whack or that they are screwed down good.

ok ill do that..........do you know anything about those bulbs from that website?

the only thing that i know from looking at the website is that if you want to use the ballast you'd need to downgrade to 32w bulbs, you could up grade to 40w but that would require a new ballast.
and i personally would stay away from 50/50 bulbs, don't know why but they seem lik ehte sort of cheapo quick fix that doesn't fly with SW tanks.
