I set my `125 up in our new house after we moved & I realized I couldn't see my background nearly as well as I could in our old house. I finally figured out why. In the old house, I had a bookcase on both sides with a bridge across the top so it was like a whole wall unit. Well, I had the lighting raised off the glass which let some of the light behind the tank (lighting the background). Since I don't have a canopy or any way to hide the escaping light, I have the lights right on the glass and no light gets behind the tank to light it up. I rigged a small strip light behind it to do the job..
Note*** This only works with one sided backgrounds. If it's two sided, you'll get a double image.

This is the tank without the back light (you can see the background better in the pic than you can in real life)

This is the tank with the back light on.

This is without the tank lights on (just the back light)

I glued an angle bracket on the back of the tank frame to keep the light from falling off the back.

And last but not least, I used a wood fram to hold the light up.
Note*** The wood can't be too wide as to touch the tank back. It will stop the light from spreading to the whole back. You'll have a strip of light down the middle of the tank, the size of the strip.

Pass it on.

I tried this with my background but nothing happened, oh my background is black:D J/K

Good idea:)
