I hav a 6x3 300g tank that I am looking for some good lighting. I currently have two 36" dual bulb t8 strips on it, and it lights the tank ok. I don't need to grow plants or coral, but was looking for a better quality lights. I was thinking led, but saw how 3 2' strips lit up a 180 and wasn't impressed.

4ft shop lights, if you can stand the way they look. very cheap, bulbs are cheap and provide light enough for a 6 ft tank. use 2, one in the front and on in towards the back and that would be plenty of light

If you have some money to burn then what about an Arcadia overtank luminaire, white or silver. They can sit on legs (you do get 6ft luminiares, they just aren't common) or be hung. Hailea do black ones if you can get them where you are and they are ok, I have just sold my 5ft T5HO one to pay for an LED venture.

4-10w led floodlights in 6000k white. Thats what I have on my 8x4 500g and it looks reLly good and has very nice shimmer. They are def powerful and will more than pay for themselves. For 150$ and 40w its the way I would go. Im currently looking to see where I can possibly use more of these floodlights because they r so cool

The tank is 27" tall. Like I said, I have no plants or corals, just looking for some nice lighting

Brich-where do I get these floodlights?

Get some old t-12 vhos. I have some and they put out some light for a fraction of the price.
