well i dunno if its just me but when i turn my aquarium light on my cichlids seem to act diffrent they seem to not beg for food like they alwasy do when the lights are off,and they dont eat either, and they hide in the caves and they flare up and hit the glass, so i never turn the lights of my aquarium because of it.Does anyone else here not turn the lights on of there aqurium? also should i turn the lights on? my aquarium does get some light from the window in my basement so its not completly dark.

fish that do this: are my red devil and my oscar and my plecos

sorry for the duble thread this dumb slow pieace a s*** computer takes forever to post up a thread so i clicked it several times.

My fish do sometimes act strange when I turn my light on.

Recently my Albino Oscars has started sulking for a while when I put the light on. The two of them sink to the bottom and don't move for a while, just lean on the rocks.

Then in time they'll start moving again when I put some food in.

albinos can be sensitive to light because they lack pigment so i use a single 36 in strip for a 48 in tank to subdue lighting. i have had no trouble with my c/as doing this
