I just have the standard strip light that came with my tank. I just want to keep some hornwort, amazon sword, and micro sword. Will my light strip be enough? Do you have to fertilize? I want an amazonian looking tank with my pbass and freinds.

the tank that i am planting is a 75 gallon and the light strip just says eclipse daylight natural. didnt see a wattage on there.
hmmm..the wattage is on the tube itself. Most will tell you the wattage but i would recommand no less then 2 watts per gallon. Actually i find even low lights plants does much better with 2.5-3 watts per gallon. On the other hand the higher the wattge of your lights the more your plants will need co2. Currently one of my tank using eco complete substrate and using 2.7 watts per gallon. im dosing flourish excel every other day. Is working fine with me. and my planted tank is a 20 gal with low light hardy plants.
it will work but pool filter sand lack of nutrients for rooted plants like swords etc. You can use flourish tabs and dose flourish and flourish excel for co2 but i recommand to upgrade your lights if is under 2 watts per gal.
nope. Just dont over dose and read the instruction but there's myth about some plants doesnt do well with flourish excel. So far my low light hardy plants is affected by this. Must be other kind of plants maybe the high lights ones.
