I have a 125 peacock and hap cichlid tank. I was wondering what lighting yall would recommend. The tank is the standard dimensions with 1 brace. I am would like actinic lighting to be with the system and not be to big of a energy hog.

Have you seen the Beamswork LED thread in the other section? It looks like a good lighting system but seems like the price has gone up due to supply drops.

Definetely zoo med reef sun 50/50 bulb. Inexpensive. 40watts. Really makes the colors pop.

Get a Beamswork LED fixture. I have a 48" reef capable fixture on my 6' 150G. (don't mind the crappy iPhone picture)

Also, the price has actually gone down on these recently... aquatraders.com

I love your tank dragonfish70. Now I know what lighting I'm going to get for my new african tank. Can I ask what type/color sand that is in your tank?

Commando that background in yours is killer.

Its actually just quikrete play sand. Grey color. You have to make sure your filter intake is high enough. Its $4 per 50lbs on Home Depot. Clean it real good. Like it better than pool filter sand.
