I finally got my 150 up and running about 2 weeks ago and added my fish a week ago(moved filter from established tank to the new tank). I don't really have any good lighting for the tank yet and would like some opinions. I'd like the tank to be lightly planted so would need lights that would support things like java fern and some kind of moss. Also the tank is 72" and the openings are about 34" on each side. Would it be a better idea to go with 30" lights of 36" lights? Thanks in advance guys :)

Some people on here might disagree but I love the marineland double bright LEDs they penetrate to the bottom of any tank and you can do java fern, java moss, anubias and some crypts in that lighting. But the quality of the light and the ability to switch to moonlighting is awesome. Plus you don't have to change bulbs.

Awesome. Thanks! I have one of those fixtures on my 40 gallon and love the thing lol. Would you think the 36" one would be ok or should I do the 30" light?

The 36" should give you full coverage on a 4ft tank and the mounts extend to 48 inches. But if it's a 6ft you might be better off with two 24's.
