My tank is 8x2x30 acrylic...it has black sides and a black background...i have 2 shop lights with 2 6500K T-12 daylite bulbs in each fixture....also have black sand as my substrate...it looks pretty good except for some of my Africans are dark and i can't see them....my question is is there any brighter bulbs i can put in the fixtures?....i know theres T-5's and MH fixtures but I'm on a tight budget for now.....any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Look into led flood lights. 10w 6000k white look awesome I have 4 lighting my whole 500g twice the footprint of your tank and they were like 35 bucks on eBay. I'd say for the price of these you will save a ton of money. Less wattage and never replace bulbs, plus get a shimmer you won't see with any other lights, prob one of the best buys I've gotten for my 500g, check my threads for pics of the setup

Thanks Bry,

I just read a couple of your post on the LED's.......I think that's the route i'm gonna go....

Thanks again
