lighting for a planted 55!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not bad at all and would work quite nicely on a 55g but for $12 you can get a 48" Twin T8 fixture at Lowes then for $8 more a pair of 32w 6,500k bulbs. Just food for thought.

Keeping in mind both setups would net you just over 1 watt per gallon, so low light plants only.

Heres a better solution and about the same price.

Ive had them on my planted for about a year now and they still work fine. And even though you say only low light plants, once you get into planting the moss and fern you will want more and now all the options are open with 4 wpg.

I researched a little bit on the lights before i got them and a guy on a reef forum said he is an electrician as well as an aquarist. He checks every lighting system he gets and said there is no difference between Odyssea/Jebo and Coral life, and he has actually had more problems with coral life.

thanks winks! i really like those! the last link you sent i like the idea of the moon lighting. will most likly end up getting that fixture

i have an odyssea light, mine is 72" and it works great, though i had coralife light and it was a great light too, so i guess its up to you
