lighting for a poly tank

alright so my endli is lazy but at 13" I can't expect to much i just litterally look at him and see is he is operculating (breathing) he is EXTREMELY lazy when the lights to his tank are on I am currently redoing his photo period (my boss had the lights on for days then off for days) other then that what kind of lights are everyone using? and how many I have to 36" PC's on the tank to much? just right? or not enough? pics to follow

Bichirs tend to not like overly bright lighting so the standard strip lights should be just fine unless your trying to grow plants requiring bright lights-Anne

i keep floating plants in my tanks to take out some of the intensity of the lights

i have 1x 18 watt in my 110G and the bichir seems to like it. he is out most of the day sitting in one corner next to the glass. oyeah, thats also the corner where i feed, might have something to do with it

I have an albino senegal with 2 w/gal on him, as well as ambient flourescents from the office. He's all over the tank all the time.
