Lighting for an acrylic tank

I will be getting a 350 gallon tank (acrylic).What is the best lighting for this size tank? Also is it possible to melt the acrylic if the light is to hot??

Since your lights' purpose is just for looking at big freshwater fish, I would suggest common All-Glass fluorescent fixtures and these:

And if you have a canopy save some money and buy some 4' shop light fixtures from a home improvement store. I bought mine on sale for $9.99 each and they accept T-12 or T-8 bulbs.
