Hi,
I am planning a 10ft x 3ft x 3ft but am unsure about lighting.
I only want part of it lit as I have catfish. My installer is recommending the following:

The lighting unit spec,
comprises of,
2 x 150w / 10,000K HQ1
4 x 14w / T5 Atinic blue tubes.

The advantage of using a light like this is you can use the Atinic blue tubes
during the day and switch on the 2 x halogen like bulbs at night.

Any comments?
Most info is about marine tanks and their lighting but mine is freshwater.

thanks
Alison

You don't need that much lighting. 4-48" HO T5 10,000K bulbs would be very sufficient IMO.
