lighting for freshwater tanks??

would regular florescent bulbs from home depot be ok for aquariums... right now i am using a bulb made from philips that i bought from home depot and it said it was made for aquariums but the light produced is really orange and is really ugly looking... need help someone

would it the light be the same as a 50/50 bulb from coralife? cause those are 34 dollars where i am and i need something that has is almost the same

pretty much any LFS should have them or be able to get them for you. what size is your tank?

Just get a "daylight" bulb from walmart or home-depot if you aren't growing anything. You can get a 2 pack for less than $10

tank is 6 feet long and the bulb i am using right now is 34 inches i believe...
