Hey everyone. Looking to start a low tech planted tank shortly. It will be a 120g (4x2x2) tank. I want to get LED lights and was hoping to get help/suggestions on what light fixture (s) to get that wont cause algae outbreaks. Hoping to have plants that dont get too high but cancover some ground and driftwood as well as taller grass plants.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I was looking at the Finnex lights but wasn;t too sure if they're too powerful for low tech tanks and would cause algae blooms if CO2 isn't used.

The Finnex Planted+ would be an ideal light for this setup, because of the dimensions of the tank it'll work out perfectly. The par would be around 32 which is ideal for a low light planted tank.

Algae is caused by excess nutrients in the water, but just like plants it uses light for photosynthesis in order to spread.

Perfect. Thanks freak78 and xxUnRaTeDxxRkOxx for the suggestion. Would one finnex planted plus be ok on my tank or would you recommend 2??
