Hagen Powerglo 18000K standard florescent.

Not always brutha... It depends on the colors you want to bring out in your fish. The PowerGlo is a great all-around lamp and its truly awesome for deep blues & reds, but a 10,000K lamp will show off greens & yellows MUCH better. If you have plants, there are about 1000 different lights to choose from & some people even like the look of Actinic blue light in freshwater tanks. Sooo, what are you trying to accomplish?

Its a rocky mbuna tank so no plants at all. I have blue, red, and yellow fish and I feel the tank is a little too bright also but that might be just me.

Like 8,000k is good for that fish assortment. Also there are no plants so 1-1.5 watts per gallon is good, if it was planted, 2-8 watts per gallon.

ok
