Well I am looking at setting up a video camera setup on my rays tanks and dvr so I can use it to review for when breeding takes place between the male and females. I have not yet seen the act occur so never know for sure how long the gestation periods have been.
This then raises two questions.
First, I assume the act of breeding can occur after the lights go out for the night right? Based on their activity I can imagine this does occur as well.
Second, is there a color of light I can put on the tank to come on when the other lights go out for the evening that will not affect the rays or other fish at all? I am thinking back to my reptile days red light did not change their behavior at all for nighttime viewing.
What are people's thoughts?
