i just recently setup my saltwater tank and the fish i have are nocturnal, three glass eye sqirrel fish...... they hide during the day time and come out at nite.... hahah its really quite funny, i see them moving with the lights offf and when i turn on the light, they pause... seriously stop in there tracks with no movement what so ever...
i took out the coralife light bulb(5000k) and put a black light but i could barely see them, and only one fish would swim around, the other two would stay paused..
is there a certain light that would allow me to observe them without having them so still? maybe those blue lights, like a 10000k?

any advice would be appreciated..

You could try LED moonlights. I have blue ones on my tank. Not very bright, but if you're in a dark room, and your eyes have adjusted to the light level, it looks really cool.

blue leds are great i got a small rail of them from a car electronics place and then got a 12v wall wart transformer the fish seem to not notice them and it puts a really cool blue outline over everything in the tank
