plain old fluorescent shop lights would work just fine, or you can spring the extra cash for fluorescent fixtures made especially for aquariums
My ps hate light though. The tank is in a place that they get natural sunlight and flippin the light on is a great way for me to get them to stop when they're aggressively fin nippin

) and I wanted to make a light housing for my tank. At work we have hundreds of one tube flourescent light houses and it gave me an idea to go buy one at menards and put it inside a DIY wood light fixture...maybe add some xmas LEDs for nighttime
