I want to purchase this light for my 55 gallon..... will it be a good lighting choice for low light plants and a brighter tank??

The light you link, and the light they show are two different things. The fixture shown is a dual linear light. The one they are talking about is a single linear. The single would do fine for low to moderate lighting. HO T5 lighting is better, but the nova lights aren't that good. I'd avoid them. I also am not a fan of the coralife CF lights.
