So I was browsing at 48" fixtures, mainly the Nova Extreme 4 T5 HO. Then I stumbled across the dual satellite. I didn't pay it much attention at first, then I noticed it puts out 48 more total watts than the Nova Extreme and is significantly cheaper? Anyone know why? I'm just wondering how it is inferior to the Nova as it seems like the far better bang for the buck deal. I know it's CF as opposed to T5 HO.

I vouch for the TEK lights, they are awesome and strong. Mounted mine inside my canopy.

Not for nothing but for less money than the Tek light I could get a Current Sundial with the stands, individual reflectors, moon lights, and built in timers for full light cycle. The Tek doesn't even include bulbs or any mounting for that price. From what I read they are justifying their price because they include the acrylic lens? My $60 coralifes included the lens. I believe in quality before cost, but I have a hard time seeing the value in the Tek lighting systems. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not that experienced with salt tanks just my 2 cents.

Perhaps I should also mention that I'm not using a canopy and only really plan on having softies and such. So wattage isn't a huge concern for me.

Nova isn't the greatest it will due fine but is cheaper due to manufacturing and supplies cost to make. But is a fine fixture to use I used one for years and loved it or if you want a great T-5 buy the retro fit Ice Cap T-5's for your tank and you'll be blown away buy them.

The TEKS come with hanging hooks to suspend the fixture. you can buy tank mounts extra. And they are strong. A guy said he dropped his from 6 feet with lights and all and nothing broke.

It's a great light system.
