will like grow lights and metal halide lights from home depot work they are rated for wattage etc. i hope so i really dont have much money so if you have some let me knwo thanks

what i mean is non aquarium lights for plantd fresh wtaer tank
 
to et plants to grow.. i think the color the bulb burns out... (kelvin) is important.. i don't know much about this.. i know artinic( blue ) is good and soo is anything that 6500k... this question maybe better for the planted forum

Hehe yes plants do need blue light but they need the full spectrum of light from blue to red in whats called the Photosynthetically Active Radiation spectrum (PAR) from about 400nm to 700nm for optimal growth. Actinic lights only put out a small sliver of the blue spectrum which is why you see the bulbs labeled 420nm or 460nm which might do a little for plants but not enough to do much of anything.
 
i knew about PAR but didnt know about the rest.. you learn something new everyday
 
well im just going to buy it and then buy plant growth and the K bulbs and thanks also let me kno how the fx5 works boostem after ur done
