i can get my hands on some of these...

150W METAL HALIDE LIGHT WITH BALLAST. THE LIGHT HAS TILT ADJUSTMENT, UV FILTER-002.
BALLAST - OM PAK 150M A614 240V 50Hz W Article No.89002863, Control Gear With Thermal Cut out For 150W MH (HPS) Lamp (100V,1.8A).
SIZE:
LENGHT: 225mm
WIDTH: 140mm
DEPTH: 130mm


Just wondering if these could be used for aquarium use...?

it can be. what is the kelvin rating of the bulb? the range for saltwater is usually around 10,000 to 20,000 degrees Kelvin.
Overall that is a good score.

one thing you will need to consider is the large amount of heat it will produce and be transfered to the tank.

i'm not a big fan of metal halide, that almost looks like a halogen lamp........i prefer T-5 it still cuts right through the water and about a 1/4 of the heat......Kelvin rating is also very important. i know it's really easy to find the right K value for T-5's don't know about 150w MH though
