Lighting question

Hello
What is the best lighting for my 29 gallon planted tank? I have a fluorescent hood, would like to keep it. Right now I have a 18000 k 20watt t8 aquaglo bulb. What would you guys suggest?

I'm looking to get my plants to grow! Lol I don't know if my lighting is sufficient and there's no natural light in the room. Tank consist of swords,moss and java fern, rotela and Anubias nana (I think that's what it's called) I used florish excel and added micronutrients with a DIY co2 system.

With those plant and ferts, your lighting is most likely fine... Hiw long do you run them?

I run 2 T8's and am just managing to grow some very demanding plants in my 60, so in a 29 you should be fine...

Thats about the same amount of hours i run my lights, so i'm going to guess you should be able to grow any of the low to medium light requirement plants, just the high light ones which may cause a little problem such as a HC carpet...

Since the only plant im having slight problems with is my HC carpet... Its been taking its sweet time filling up the space...

you want apx 6500 k for best growth, 12 hours a day. Check out a DIY Co2 set up.

I have a DIY co2 set up running great I'm going to switch my light to 6500 k and see if it makes a difference. Will post before and after pics thanks for the advice
