I have a freshwater 150gallon South American/African Cichlid tank with a DIY background. But Im tired of looking at these crappy lights. I have a 48 inch fixture. But they're t8 and they're plane white. Does anybody know a good bulb I could use for the best color possible? I was looking at these GE Aqua Rays bulbs. They look great in my 10 gallon hospital tank. They have them in 48 inch but they're T12's, which sucks. Can the sockets on the bulb fit in my T8 tombstones? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just getting fed up with looking at a great tank but crappy lighting. Thanks.

Do yourself a favor & just get some Hagen PowerGlo T-8's. Thats probably the cheapest easiest way to get the light you want & your fish will look amazing.

im with this guy, the power glo makes the fishes color stand out alot.
it has a pink hue which i dont mind

if you want the best light, t5ho are they way to go. costly, but rewarding

Agreed. I have the Coral life actinic and their 10,000 K but the powerglo is the winner for sure. Especially with the right unit.
