I used to have a T5 HO light on my 75 gallon aquarium used for growing plants, but since I don't have a planted tank anymore and the light was bright enough to keep my room well lit (also looking at it was like staring into the sun) I took it down and replaced it with a standard T8. The T8 isn't very bright, though. It's hardly enough to let me get any good pictures of the tank, in fact, the small submersible17" LED fixture does a better job, but since it's so short, it's only good for lighting a small area of the tank.

Basically, I'm looking for a good middle ground in lighting, I've encountered a company I've never seen before called BeamsWork when browsing ebay, they sell some LED lights at reasonable prices, and I've been considering picking a fixture from them.

I've come across this one here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/48-50-Aquar...593?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item460aa81621 which seems like it'd make a good middle ground between my light of god t5 and my dark as dawn t8, but it's really hard to judge, I'm not really sure how to judge brightness by lumens, and that seems to be how they measure the light of all the LED fixtures.

BeamsWork has a few other 48" lights as well, all of them between I believe 900 and 3300 lumens, so there's a good selection, I feel like this could be my stop for getting the right amount of light on my tank.

Any info you guys could provide on helping me find a good middle ground, as well as some info on these lights and the BeamsWork company would be much appreciated. Thank you.
